We Literally Die: Do Fashion Shows Get Better Than This?
You are broke AF and the final surge of January blues is hitting you hard, no doubt. So why not escape to a place far from our mere mortal land, the Dior couture show.
Maria Grazia Chiuri made a considerable impact with Instagram fodda tees proclaiming, ‘we should all be feminists,’ for her Dior debut three months ago and continued to exert her unique packaging of whimsical dressing for her first couture show. The results: floaty, feminine princess dresses with a touch of the mythical about them with zodiac signs and animal masks abound, set amongst a plush garden labyrinth. Be our guest with a 360 degree tour of the show and the following ball…
The Luxe Labyrinth
Conjuring up a world where the Brother’s Grimm meets Little Red Riding Hood, the show was set in the Musee Rodin In Paris, and brought the musuem’s outdoor space into a mirrored cube. Thus creating the ultimate box of curiosities.
It's As If A Disney Princess Went Shopping On Net-a-porter
If Disney Princesses had access to the internet when stuck in their towers or locked up by their Step Mothers this is exactly what they would spend their time doing, monitoring these Dior dresses on net-a-porter. If only happy ever after dressing was just a click away… when will our Dior dress come?
Backstage Eye View
Stepping backstage at the show it’s as if you were greeted by the line up for the greatest fairytale performance of all time from black tailored coats, staying true to the house’s iconic ‘new look’, evoking a villainous vibe to dresses with tremendous trains bringing all levels of wedding inspiration. Note there was also a accidental homage to Karen’s ‘sexy cat’ costume from Mean Girls.
Making Cinders Blush: All Bras Barred
After the show the great and the good of the fairytale were permitted to attend the ball. Whilst some opted for masks, Kendall Jenner opted for sunglasses, well this was a modern take on a fairy tale after all. Given that this was a very 2017 ball, bras were bared, well they were for Bella Hadid at least. Are you blushing Cinders?
Festival Fash-Over
If you want to lux-ify your festivals experience take note of this floral garland. Ruined by many tacky festival-goers, the staple is reborn in the most sophisticated of fashions.
From The Frow To The FROW-Down
Chiara Ferragni showed how dreamy a transition from the FROW to the party FROW-down can be- slipping from her feminist fashions to flirtiest of sheer dresses.
A FROW Of Two Halves
ASAP Rocky and Diane Kruger stepped out for the Dior show yesterday with the rapper opting for a Dior Homme ensemble grounded by Nikes and Diane went all out for medieval wench. Both phenomenal.
Glitter Gets Sophisticated
Glitter lovers rejoice! Dior delivered a beauty look that was all about subtle applications of glitter and a considered sprinkling of stars. We are just wondering if this is office appropriate? If Dior says so then YES.
