The 15 Iciest Moments From The Devil Wears Prada

News is in that Elton John will be writing the songs for the forthcoming Devil Wears Prada musical. Cue excited squeals about having new material to replace impassioned “The Circle of Liiiiifee” renditions.

It was announced in 2015 that the 2006 film - based on the 2003 novel by Lauren Weisberger -  is headed to Broadway for a musical adaptation. The man responsible for Rent and Avenue Q will be behind it, and now Elton’s been roped in, too.

The announcement got us thinking about the movie and how the coldest quips from Miranda Priestly, Emily and Nigel might be translated into song. So we had to revisit them - remember these ingeniously icy moments from the put-down queens?

1. When Miranda made it very clear you need to bring your A-game to editorial meetings.

2. When Nigel first spotted Andy... "Who is that sad little person? Are we doing a before-and-after piece I don't know about?"

3. And then he asked Emily, and she gave her cutting opinion on the new girl.

4. When Miranda told Emily that silence is preferable, but not in a subtle way.

5. Everyone is better off staying quiet around Miranda Priestly.

6. When Andy said she had evening plans and was met with this brutal put down.

7. When Miranda told Andy she didn't have any fashion sense and then shut her down the minute she tried to respond.

8. And when she made it clear to Andy she needed to pick up the pace.

via GIPHY

9. Not many people escape super harsh judgement from Miranda. Remember this?

via GIPHY

10. Just a look is enough to feel the full force of it.

via GIPHY

11. When Miranda was brutally honest about her decision to hire Andy. Ouch.

via GIPHY

12. When Emily expressed her disbelief with the most cutting display of sarcasm.

via GIPHY

13. But Andy could play her at her own game occasionally.  When Emily asked if she delivered the book...

14. When Miranda saw no reason why her coffee shouldn't be on her desk when she gets to work

15. And who can forget the cerulean blue sweater scene? Never will anyone forget how the chain of fashion really works.

DASH Is Appaz The Best Diet In The World: But Does It Work?

DASH diet

What is the DASH diet?

DASH, for the record, has nothing to with the Kardashian’s Calabasas boutique, and instead is a healthy eating regime created by legit doctors, that’s been around for 20 years and has consistently been named the best diet in the world. Punchy chat indeed.

Much like our ability to squeeze into that size 10 pair of chic cigarette trousers, trendy diets come and go. But not DASH. It’s recently been voted the number one diet in the News & World Report’s Best Diets list for the seventh year in a row.

Not surprisingly, more and more people are giving it their undivided attention. So considering it’s such a winner option, now’s the right time to learn everything there is to know about it…

First explain the science bit, please…
We’re talking real, hard science people! DASH stands for Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension and was first developed by the US National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute in line with research to lower blood pressure and high cholesterol.

The approach centred around upping fruit, vegetables and lean protein instead of eating processed foods high in sugar, fats and salt, and results quickly showed that people who followed it boasted lower rates of heart attack, stroke, heart failure and developing diabetes. Happy days.

Further research was conducted into a lower-carb version of the diet, and dietitian Marla Heller used it to create a two-phase weight loss eating plan.

Phase One is a kickstart; a two-week plan rich in protein, which is focused on keeping you full but making every calorie count.

Phase Two is all about setting you up on this path for life, introducing more whole grains, fruits and non-starchy vegetables to help you lose weight at a steady rate.

Tell us what the fridge is going to look like…
Light on classic carbs and grains, but you’ll make up for it in lean protein, dairy and fats.

During Phase One, DASH calls for moderate-sized servings of the following foods:

- Foods that are protein-rich and low in saturated fat e.g. lean meats, fish and poultry; beans, lentils, soy foods; low-fat or non-fat cheeses; eggs; unsweetened or artificially sweetened yoghurt
- Heart-healthy fats e.g. avocados (oh hey, Instagram!); vegetable oils, especially olive oil, canola oil and nut oils; salad dressing, especially those made with the above DASH-friendly oils
- Foods that are protein-rich and contain healthy fat – nuts and seeds; fatty fish

You can have as much of these foods as you want:
- Sugar-free gelatin
- Non-starchy vegetables (so everything bar the stodgy root veggies or sweet varieties like potato, butternut squash and corn)

But avoid the following:
- Starchy foods e.g. no bread, pasta, potatoes, rice, processed crap. Avoiding beige will serve you well.
- Sugary foods, including fruit (you’ll get your bananas and berries back after a fortnight)
- Alcohol
- Milk
- Caffeine, other than the odd cup with your meal

DASH diet

And what's an average day?
The amount you eat, i.e. portion control, is calculated by your target goal weight and is linked to calorie intake. Once you’ve worked out how much of DASH-friendly foods you should be eating, a ideal DASH eating plan looks like this:

Breakfast: omelette; 2 slices of wholewheat toast topped with jam; a handful of mixed berries; small glass of fruit juice; a DIY latte made with espresso and skimmed milk.
Lunch: Sandwich of wholegrain bread filled with ham, low-fat cheese, cabbage, tomato and mustard; carrot batons; 8 baby plum tomatoes; small Granny Smith apple.
Dinner: salmon fillet on a bed of sweet potato mash with steamed broccoli and mixed greens; slice of Italian bread (we’re guessing ciabatta or focaccia falls under this category); frozen yoghurt.
Snacks: a few hazelnuts; serving of cantaloupe melon; pot of fat-free, artificially sweetened yoghurt.

According to the diet, this day’s calculations stand at: 4 whole grains, 1 refined grain, 3 dairy, 4 fruit, 5+ vegetables, 1 nut, 8oz meat.

Do celebs do it too?
Apparently. And that’s not a cop-out answer; DASH is probably the only diet on earth without heaps of celebrity endorsements and affiliated weight-loss DVDs. Big names like Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Hudson are currently swirling around in articles about the eating plan, but to date no famous face has spoken openly about following it. Maybe it isn’t sexy enough or promises enough of a quick fix for celeb fans… but millions of real people swear by it.

Sounds like a winner…
According to nutritionist Kim Pearson, there’s good reason that DASH has become so popular over the years. ‘It definitely has its pros; an eating plan that encourages consuming fresh, natural foods, emphasizes the importance of proteins and fats and highlights drinking adequate fluids is likely to be beneficial and will fill you up without relying on sugary, calorie-dense processed foods.’

Fellow nutritionist Michelle Braude agrees that, unlike so many current ‘diets’ marketed as weight-loss strategies, DASH doesn’t look to swerve whole food groups or tie us into dropping an entire month’s rent at Whole Foods just to get started. ‘This diet is the perfect combination of eight different food groups – fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy, meat/fish/poultry/eggs, nuts and seeds, added fats and sweet foods,’ she says.

‘So many recent fads push consumers to cut out natural sugars like fresh fruit (which is packed with fibre and contains naturally-occurring sugars that curb cravings for other sweet foods) and dairy (completely unnecessary and unscientific for those without diagnosed lactose intolerance) so it’s good to see the DASH diet embracing both in a balanced way.’

All plain sailing, then?
It depends on how much time you’re willing to spend in the kitchen and how au fait you are with numbers. ‘While the diet itself is medically and scientifically sound, it does make healthy eating seem like a chore, thanks to its focus on counting calories and splitting up daily servings of different foods,’ says Braude.

And because you’re encouraged to avoid processed foods in favour of fresh, there’s meal prep and cooking involved. ‘While the DASH diet includes principles which are important to a healthy diet for most people, such as eating plenty of vegetables, healthy fats and lean protein while minimizing processed foods, it doesn’t take into account an individual’s unique needs, so you still need to be careful to tailor it to your own body,’ advises Pearson.

The Best New Books To Read In 2017, One For Each Month Of The Year

Best books to red in 2017

Every month of 2017 has a title more exciting than the last.

Here's a list of what Erin Woodward from The Girly Book Club is most anticipating for each month of the year.

February: Mischling by Affinity Konar
It’s a historical novel – and so much more. The author, in an effort not to be daunted by the immenseness of the subject (the holocaust), claims to have started writing by considering “voice and language” first and foremost. Which is obvious throughout her novel. The subject matter, although grave, is told in a such a beautiful and spellbinding way. It centres around two twins who Josef Mengele, the "Angel of Death", used as subjects in his medical experiments at Auschwitz.

March: Moranifesto by Caitlin Moran
It’s really just more of the same from everyone's favourite member of the 'liberal metropolitan elite'. But nicely tied together in a pretty little bundle. Moran is as witty, and sharp as ever and at a time when we can all use a little more Moran in our life. Worth the read and re-read to help shed light on important subjects that continue to define our century.

Best books to red in 2017

April: You are a badass at making money: Master the mindset of Wealth by Jen Sincero
This bestselling author offers her creative, no-nonsense, hilarious outlook on not only achieving financial success but living the life you most desire.

May: Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman
Honeyman’s debut novel is a roaring success. Join strange and unusual Eleanor Oliphant as she says exactly what she thinks. Readers will fall in love with this quirky, yet loveable character and celebrate as life turns out a little differently than she anticipated.

June: Ginny Moon by Benjamin Ludwig
Another debut author with a masterpiece on his hands. Shortly after being married, Ludwig and his wife fostered and adopted a teenager with autism. You can’t help but wonder how much of this creative genius is based on his own personal experiences, because main character Ginny, is a 14-year-old girl with autism. The story is told from Ginny’s own voice and is compassionate, evocative and heartwarming.

Best books to red in 2017

July: History of Bees by Maja Lunde
If you loved Station Eleven or Never Let Me Go, this is a story for you. Lunde draws us in and doesn’t let us go until the last page while we live the lives of three generations of beekeepers from past, present and into the future. All the while presenting a complicated history of relations and tackling some of our current global crisis.

August: Are you Sleeping by Kathleen Barber
Is there anything better than a good psychological thriller? This one won’t disappoint you. Author Kathleen Barber has a keen sense for sending you down a dead end in the best way possible. Meet Josie, she spent a decade trying to leave behind a cruel past that gave her nothing but misery, and she's more or less succeeded, now living in New York with her boyfriend. But did she? Turns out her new life is built on eggshells as an investigative journalist launches a podcast to look into her father’s murder, which reopens the case and Josie’s past.

September: Seven Days of Us by Francesca Hornak
Welcome to Weyfield Hall, an ageing country estate where the entire Birch family will convene over Christmas for the first time in ages. When the wi-fi goes on the blink the family must turn inwards and spend an entire seven days together, during which they try and find some common ground based on something more than shared blood.

October: Jo Malone My Story

The incredible Jo Malone tells her life story from humble beginnings to creating a global brand; from a childhood with very little schooling to the successful British business women we know today. Her path wasn’t always paved with gold, or clear cut, and she faced her own failures as well as major health concerns being diagnosed with breast cancer at the young age of 37. This book will serve as an inspiration to all women.

Best books to red in 2017

November: I Promise Not to Tell by Jayne Ann Krentz
This isn’t Krentz's first rodeo – a best-selling author many times over her new book is bound to hit the bestseller lists. Romantic yet suspenseful, she tells the story of troubled artist Hannah Brewster as she creates one last picture before ending her own life. She sends the picture to art gallery owner Emma Troy, a friend she made a promise to a lifetime ago. But nothing is as it seems and the final work of art serves as a warning for its owner. Evocative and chilling you won’t put it down.

December: A Mother’s Story by Rosie Batty

A story unlike any other you’ve read – you’ll find it hard to believe that this harrowing tale is not a work of fiction. Rosie Batty, a domestic violence crusader, is helping other women rise up and ensure that don’t experience a tale similar to her own. A woman with such grace and forgiveness.

Winona Ryder's Facial Expressions At The SAG Awards Are Everything

If the Screen Actors Guild Awards starts giving out honours for best GIFs, Winona Ryder has 2017’s category on lockdown.

When the entire Stranger Things cast took the stage to accept the SAG Award for best drama ensemble on Sunday night, actor David Harbour gave a passionate speech about the current political climate — one Ryder couldn’t help but react to time and again.

Over the course of Harbour’s lengthy speech, the Heathers alum went from surprise and seeming confusion over the fact that Harbour actually wrote this out, to outright support, to further confusion when he mentioned “[punching] some people in the face.”

RELATED: Behind The Scenes At The SAG Awards 2017

“We were at dinner the other night … I was like, guys I wanna say this crazy speech, can I run it by you?’ Harbour said backstage. “Charlie [Heaton] was like, ‘No no, you’ll jinx us!’ And I finally beat him into submission. But it even changed last night based on the protests going on at the airport and all the stuff that’s going down. But they did help me and they did reassure me that it was an okay thing to say and that it wasn’t pretentious and that I could say it.”

Check out a collection of GIFs and screenshots of Ryder’s scene stealing face below:

Celebrities React To Trump's #MuslimBan - And They're Angry

By Tory Kingdon

On Friday Donald Trump signed an order intended "to keep radical Islamic terrorists out of the United States of America". How, you ask? Oh just by barring ALL citizens from predominantly Muslim countries - Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen - from visiting or emigrating to America. Yep, really.

Unsurprisingly, the move has caused outrage. Protestors gathered outside airports throughout the US and soon the hashtag #MuslimBan was trending on Twitter. The SAG Awards acted as a platform for lots of celebs to have their say too. One thing's for sure, no-one was staying quiet.

Ashton Kutcher
Kicking off the host-less SAG Awards, Ashton Kutcher showed his support for the protestors, saying: “Good evening, fellow SAG-AFTRA members and everyone at home and everyone in airports that belong in my America. You are a part of the fabric of who we are and we love you and we welcome you."

Julia Louis-Dreyfus

On picking up her SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series, the Veep star told the audience, "My father fled religious persecution in occupied France, and I’m an American patriot and I love this country, and because I love this country I am horrified by its blemishes, and this immigrant ban is a blemish and it is un-American."

Mahershala Ali

The Moonlight actor spoke of his own conversion to Islam: “My mother is an ordained minister. I am a Muslim. She didn’t do backflips when I called her and told her I converted 17 years ago. But we put things to the side and I was able to see her. She is able to see me. We love each other. The love has grown, and that stuff’s minutiae. It’s not that important . . . When you persecute people, they fall into themselves.”

Taraji P. Henson

Taraji also made a reference to the ban in her Hidden Figures acceptance speech: “This story is of unity, this story is about what happens when we put our differences aside and come together as a human race...We win. Love wins, every time.”

RELATED: The SAG Awards 2017

Other celebrities took to Twitter in protest.

Julianne Moore

Seth Rogen

Michael Moore

Jessica Chastain

Olivia Wilde

Patricia Arquette

Chrissy Teigen

Rihanna

Kim Kardashian

It's not often Kim Kardashian tweets about statistics, but this table made her feelings on the matter clear.

Bella and Gigi Hadid

Bella and Gigi took to the streets to protest, joining thousands at a #NoBanNoWall rally in New York. The model sisters, whose Dad Mohammed is a Jordanian American, born in Palestine, carried a sign that read “We are all Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims, Atheists, Christians, Jews”. The letters of which spelt out Humans vertically. Bella posted a pic to Instagram.

Not everyone was united in their anger however, with Rihanna's tweet on the ban inciting Trump-supporting Azealia Banks to fight back with, "As far as Rihanna (who isn’t [an American] citizen, and can’t vote) and all the rest of the celebrities who are using their influence to stir the public, you lot really REALLY need to shut up and sit down." Rihanna responded and the feud escalated, with Banks eventually posting details of Rihanna's mobile number online.

It's a shame someone can't do the same for Trump - there's a few things we'd like to say him.

WATCH: YouTuber Bethany Mota On How To Break The Internet

YouTube stars don’t get much more successful than Bethany Mota. She’s the queen of the DIY video and also found the time to interview Barak Obama- talk about interview goals. Here, ahead of the release of her debut book, Make your Mind Up, Bethany talks us through what it takes to be the USA’s number one female YouTuber…

1. It’s Cool To Be Clueless

‘When I got into YouTube which was 8 years ago now, it was crazy, I was thirteen and had no idea what I was doing and that’s the point. I didn’t know what I was getting into. I didn’t know that success could come out of it and I didn’t know that I could make anything out of it. I didn’t realize it could be a career at that time because also eight years ago Youtube people didn’t really see it that way, it was like “Aww its so cute you make youtube videos!”’

2. Don’t Rely On Numbers

‘Don’t say, “I want this many subscribers or this amount of views and I want all of this success and I’m going into it without intention”. Because when that doesn’t happen quickly for you then you are going to be disappointed, then you are ganna give up and then its ganna feel like chore.’

3. You Are Your Own Competition

‘I see myself and my past videos as my competition, so I always wanna do better than I have in the past.’

4. Never Give Up

‘I tried to make macaroons and I literally was up for almost two days straight. Like in the kitchen, trying to make these and then I was still on camera like “Oh, so easy!”’

5. Shake Off Nerves Even When Faced With Obama

‘Oh my God, I’ve never been so nervous in my life. I didn’t know what it was like to get so nervous that your lips shake until then and if you watch the video back I am literally holding my hands to stop myself shaking! The day before the actual interview with the president we had a fake interview with a fake Obama.’

6. Seek Some Self Help

Speaking about her new book, ‘its also very heavy as far as inspirational motivational things go. I personally myself love self-help books. I have so many. Like all I read is self-help and self-improvement and so I wanna make sure that was a big part of this book.’

7. Screw The Haters

‘Honestly, sometimes someone will say something like that one thing that I’m already feeling I’m like “yeah, I know!” I once replied to one person who continuously kept sending me negative messages and she replied apologizing saying it wasn’t about me, it was about her going through bad stuff in her life.’

'Make Your Mind Up' by Bethany Mota will be avaliable from 9th March 2017.

The Obamas Finally Take A Family Holiday - And It Looks Totally Worth The Wait

Exclusive: An Up-Close Look At Chrissy Teigen’s SAG Awards Beauty Look

Red lipstick is never a bad idea. Case in point: Chrissy Teigen’s makeup at the 2017 SAG Awards. The supermodel teamed up with celebrity makeup artist Mary Phillips for a beauty look that was initially inspired by her classic black tuxedo dress, and we have the exclusive breakdown on every single product used.

RELATED: The Red Carpet Looks From The SAG Awards 2017

"She’s wearing this super cool, long, modern black tuxedo dress, and when I heard that, for some reason I automatically thought: RED LIP!”, explained makeup artist Mary Phillips. The decision was even more clear when she found out Teigen was wearing emerald jewels because the deep, jewel-toned hues together give off an elegant vibe. Paired with the loose waves celebrity hairstylist Giannandrea Marongiu created, it might be one of her best red carpet moments of all time.

But out of all the elements of the look, Phillips told us if you’re going to be recreating it at home—one she describes as “empowering glam, chic, confident, model-off-duty—red carpet edition”—the lips and the super glowy skin should be the main focus.

To begin, Phillips prepped Teigen’s skin by massaging in La Mer Renewel Oil (£109.93; nordstrom.com) and then applied La Mer Crème de la Mer (£143.75; nordstrom.com) to the face, neck, décolletage, and arms. Turns out, this is Teigen’s favourite La Mer product of all time. Phillips then tackled the skin around the eyes by applying La Mer Illuminating Eye Gel (£126.84; nordstrom.com) and then layering La Mer The Lifting Eye Serum (£202.95; nordstrom.com) on top. "You can never have too much moisture around the eyes, at least that’s how I feel,” she explains.

Before she started with the makeup, Phillips applied La Mer Lip Balm (£50.74; nordstrom.com). "I applied a dollop of this on to her lips, almost like a mask. I like to apply more than necessary, so while I’m getting the rest of the face ready, it’s almost like a treatment and not just a prep step. But whenever anyone’s wearing a lip color, I always pay extra attention to the lip care—a color has to go on seamlessly, and this allows that to happen,” she explains.

Next, Phillips applied a few different shades of La Mer Skin Color de La Mer Foundation (£93.02; nordstrom.com) to create the perfect shade that perfectly fits Teigen's complexion. Phillips says if this foundation proposed to her, she would say yes. Clearly, it’s a game-changer. She applied the foundation with her fingers, a blush brush, a damp and a dry beautyblender, and a Bounty towel to blot.

Phillips then used Light, Medium and Medium Deep shades of La Mer Skin Color de La Mer Concealer (£63.42; nordstrom.com) to conceal under Teigen’s eyes, shape and contour and BECCA Backlight Targeted Colour Corrector in Peach, Pistachio, and Violet (£23.92 each; sephora.com) to color correct.

RELATED: 15 Reasons Why We Love Chrissy Teigen

After applying Tom Ford Blush in Love Lust (£50.74; nordstrom.com) and some highlighter, Phillips chose to keep the eyes in warm and bronze tones using Becca, Bobbi Brown, and Estée Lauder eyeshadow. She finished off the eyes by curling the lashes and then applying individual false lashes and some mascara. "For extra curl, heat up your eyelash curler with a hair dryer or a lighter. Test on the back of your hand first for safety! Before curling, lift your brow upward with your thumb so that the base of your lashes can really be exposed, and then you can get the full advantage of the curl,” she says.

So the lips you’re obsessed with? Phillips first applied Tom Ford Lip Contour Duo in Devil Inside (£44.82; nordstrom.com) for lining and contour. But the red that stole the spotlight was none other than the cult-classic MAC shade Lady Danger (£15.50; maccosmetics.co.uk). "I am in love with this color on Chrissy. It’s one of our go-to colors on her. It’s such the right red on her, definitely one of her power reds,” she says.

DB spilled on love at first sight and Victoria's cat suits on Desert Island Discs

Picture the scene, David Beckham stranded on a desert island. It’s the stuff of Monday day dreams, but in the place of this actually happening here is what DB dished on when he appeared on Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs from wedding outfit regrets to the strength of his marriage to Victoria Beckham…

On dating in Harvester Car Parks…

Nandos may be your go-to first date destination but in a time before Nandos hatched there was another chain to try, ‘their manager, Simon Fuller was very protective over the girls, at the time he wanted to keep it quiet. Every time I went on a date with her we would sit in a car park and talk. This particular time I had this bright blue BMW that I spent my whole pay packet on… I drove down, picked her up… we used to sit in the Harvester car park and we kissed of course…’

On the strength of his marriage…

Touching on some bumps in the marital road, David said himself and Victoria have survived as a couple, he thinks, ‘because we are a strong family unit. We have got strong parents too and they taught us the right values. Of course you make mistakes and we all know that marriage is difficult at times. It is about working through it. We have come up against tough times. But we know each other better than anyone else knows us. And we talk. Do we stay together because it is a brand? Of course not. We stay together because we love each other and have four amazing children.’

david and victoria beckham old photo

His wedding regrets…

The wedding of David and Victoria Beckham was national news at the time and certainly lived up to the hype with doves, thrones and OTT outfits. However looking back on their 19 year marriage David regrets only one thing, his showy sartorial choice, comparing to something out of Dumber and Dumber, ‘I even had a top hat in purple. Unbelievable. What was I thinking?

On Elton John not performing at the wedding…

DB and VB are not only good pals with Elton John- he is also the godfather to his children. But ahead of his wedding Elton was taken ill, ‘we became friends with Elton and he was coming to the wedding to perform. But on the morning of the wedding we got a call to say Elton was on the plane and had a heart attack. So obviously we were more worried about his health. But eventually, a couple of years later we christened the kids and he performed this song (Something About The Way You Look Tonight) in our house.’

Victoria Beckham airport

On cat suits and love at first sight (AWWW)…

Having joked previously that Victoria picked him out from a football sticker book and he chose her from the telly, David said, ‘I am not sure that is true on her part because she was never into football but at that time everyone had their favourite Spice Girl and I remember seeing her on the telly wearing a black cat suit… that was one of the reasons why she became my favourite Spice Girl.’ They first met in the Manchester United’s player lounge, spoke for 25 minutes and David got her number. DB goes on to say it was love at first sight. Awww!

On being a style icon…

Mentioning a turning point in his style David recalled the decision he made as a 6 year old page boy, ‘I had two options: just a normal suit or burgundy velvet knickerbockers with white tights and white ballet shoes and I chose that believe it or not!’ It gets better… he wore it again.

On his shoe collection vs. Victoria’s…

Continued below...

It turns out DB is a bit of a collectomaniac, not only does he have 115 caps for England he has a lot of memorabilia, ‘I have so many pairs of boots because I always used to keep them after games…over a 1000 pairs of boots.’ That actually could put Victoria’s shoe collection so shame.

We Now Have Confirmation Gigi Hadid Would Look Great With Pink Hair

If the fact that it’s Monday isn't putting you in a great mood, let us direct you to Gigi Hadid’s latest hair transformation. The model, who doesn’t normally stray too far from her natural bronde hair color, just went pink.

The supermodel posted a picture on Instagram of herself with hot pink hair and a new a set of bold, blunt bangs. The drastic dye job features darker roots and an subtle ombred effect down the lengths of her hair, going from hot pink to a paler hue. It’s a complete 180 from what she has been seen wearing recently. Of course, there’s a very real possibility that this is just an impressive wig. Hadid has fooled us many times before with very real looking faux fringe, so only time will tell.

One thing we do know? If the supermodel wanted to go pink permanently, she could definitely pull it off.

What To Eat When You're Chic But Cheap

Best cheap eats in London

Words by Frankie McCoy

Food is social currency: posting an Instagram photo from the latest cult restaurant of *that* cheeseburger/kimchi taco/plate of hand-pulled pasta gives more kudos than being seen at any club or with any handbag. But it's costly to maintain that totes hip foodie image when a new It dish appears daily. You need to play tactically. You need to know the single best yet cheapest dish to order at the hippest restaurants, for when you're chic but totally cheap.

When you’re with an awkward veggie (or you are that awkward veggie)
Gunpowder aloo chat (£5.50)
A tiny, corridor-like Indian down a Shoreditch back alley doesn't sound terribly promising. Yet Gunpowder is brilliant. No oily, heartburner masala here; instead, beautifully light dishes that vibrate with flavour. And there is huge choice for the meat-free mate in your life. Pickled okra fries are amazing but it's the signature aloo chat that you need: smoky soft potatoes wallowing in sweet, mouth-tickling tamarind sauce and creamy yoghurt.

When you want fine dining (but you’re happy to stand)
Prawnography’s special (£10)
Prawnography might be a street food stand with a devastatingly punning name (thus ticking all the "chic" boxes you really need). But Jim’s background in fine dining means every one of his fish dishes is also a Michelin-worthy work of art. A recent dish of griddled ocean trout with parsley cream, pickled Yorkshire rhubarb, horseradish and popcorn shoot practically deserved its own gallery, besides being a umami bomb of flavour.

When you need a burger. Now.

Bleecker St. cheeseburger (£6)
Imagine the best McDonald's cheeseburger you've ever eaten. Now multiply the pleasure of eating that salty, squidgy, beefy badness by several thousand, turn the uniformly grey meat a luscious pink, and that's a Bleecker. Founder Zan Kaufman created this perfect thing in 2012. A street food market staple, she's just opened permanent indoor digs in Victoria, so you can sit down in the warm as you consume the best burger you will ever, ever eat.

When you’re willing to queue

Padella pici cacio e pepe (£5.50)
The cheaper, and impossibly popular, younger sister to Islington's beloved Italian restaurant Trullo, Padella has a permanent queue outside its doors. Brave it, and you will be lovingly rewarded. Fresh pasta dough is made and rolled in front of you; transformed into pici, a sort of chubby spaghetti, it's then cooked to al dente and smothered in the most intensely parmesan cheesey, peppery cream sauce. It looks a bit like worms. It tastes phenomenal. And wine starts at £3.50 a glass.

When you’re with your gal pals
Ceru's small plates (from £5)
Go sharesies and order one dish each, and with a bottle of £17 Turkish white you'll still be out for under £10. You could do worse than order calamari, crisper and better seasoned than in most beachside restaurants (£7), pancar, a beetroot dip that sparks pita fights over the last scoop (£5) and sticky sweet pomegranate lamb, marinated and cooked for hours and hours until it practically melts (£10).

When you’re on a Tinder date
Breddos baja fish taco (£4)
You don't want to invest too much time or money in a guy you know only from his Facebook profile. Tacos are the way forward, and that means Breddos. Every filling is brilliant, but you must have the classic: a sparklingly fresh nugget of fish, battered, on a healthy slick of zinging lime mayo, to be wrapped in the corn tortilla and shovelled into your mouth in one bite. Not the most elegant of dishes - juice spurts, tortillas sag - but if your date can't handle you happily slurping sauce from your wrists, he's not The One.

When you need to fantasise yourself on holiday
Barrafina pan con tomate (£3.80)
Warning: it is excruciatingly difficult not to order everything at London’s best tapas restaurant. Exercise restraint, though, and just order the pan con tomate. Beautifully ripe, salted tomatoes top thick, almost brioche-like toasted bread, all drenched in very good olive oil indeed. Ridiculously simple yet so perfect, it makes a mockery of anything more complicated. Best with a glass of the house La Gitana manzanilla (£6)

When you’re on your own
A Wong's Shanghai steamed dumpling with ginger vinegar (£1.50)
Even when not on a budget, solo lunchers with a keen desire to sample thoroughly have a dilemma: you can't physically consume more than a few dishes before you're full, leaving a whole menu unexplored. A Wong comes to the rescue. Dim sum starts at just £1.30 per piece, meaning you can order six different things and be out, full yet not bursting, for under a tenner. Although you will end up ordering a second of the soup-filled dumpling. Biting into the thin wrapper releases a flood of porky rich broth, cut through with sour, gingery vinegar.

When you want to feel special
Bellanger tarte flambee alsacienne (£5.50)
Bellanger is a restaurant from the gods of hospitality, Corbin and King, whose restaurants are not only filled with thesps but whose staff treat every single guest like they're a bonafide A-lister. Their Islington place is as theatrically grand as the original, and universally adored, Wolseley. Yet despite the old school glitz, you can escape without spending your inheritance by ordering the tarte flambee alsacienne: the thinnest, crispest flatbread, that elegantly shatters under the weight of its smoky bacon-onion-cheese topping.

By Tory Kingdon

Every girl is entitled to the wedding of their dreams, whether that be a rose-petal-strewn aisle with white doves released overhead or a no fuss, no frills trip to the registry office and a pub supper.

Whatever your wedding aspirations, we imagine the following news might help make your day: Topshop are releasing a bridal collection! Launching in April, our favourite high street store will debut a capsule collection of bridal gowns, bridesmaids dresses, bridal lingerie and accessories.

They're keeping relatively shtum on the exact details, but we do know that there will be five dresses in the collection, starting from a bridal-budget-friendly £350, and a ‘large selection’ of bridesmaids options, starting from £85. One picture from the range has been released, showing a blush-pink silk and chiffon design.

Michelle Keegan’s Body Secrets

Michelle Keegan's body secrets

Words by Victoria Joy

For decades, Barbie had the monopoly on the perfect boob-waist-bum ratio – no contest. Then Michelle Keegan appeared, and she’s held first prize – and our envious attention – ever since. The baggy clothes and giant hoop earrings that she donned as Corrie’s Tina gave no suggestion of the banging body underneath, but every bikini pic posted on the actress’ Insta feed has us wondering how she keeps her figure in check. Wonder no more – we called in the experts to reveal her body secrets…

That body comes with a disclaimer
Michelle is the first one to say that she’s been blessed with winner genes. The actress has often described herself as being ‘naturally slim’, so she’s one of the lucky ones working to enhance what she’s got, not work to change it.

So, it must be down to a posh PT, right?
Nope, Michelle is one celeb who doesn’t enlist the help of a professional to keep her uber toned – she devises her own workouts set to killer playlists, which are good enough to get her out of bed in the morning. ‘I don’t have a personal trainer, I just tend to train myself, get the tunes blasting…I feel trapped with a personal trainer.’ Not sure how to go it alone? ‘The key is to have a plan,’ says Gede Foster, Master Trainer at Frame. ‘You don’t need a trainer to get results but act like one and organize what area of the body you’ll train on each day, working in rest days and then monitor your progress. Most improvements when it comes to fitness are tiny and gradual, so you don’t notice you’re getting stronger and learner, but monitoring if you can do one extra lunge each time or lift a little heavier will keep you motivated without the watchful eye of a PT.’

She gets up and at ‘em early
Heaving yourself out of bed for work can feel tough enough, but if you want to channel Michelle’s sweat schedule, it’s all about morning workouts. Which not only gets it out of the way first thing (until you learn to love it, of course) but has a host of proven benefits too. ‘Morning exercise is both mentally and physically stimulating, firing up your cognitive responses in the brain and kickstarting your metabolism so your body is best set up to burn the calories you consume later in the day,’ says Foster. Doesn’t sound doable? ‘Set out your gym kit and pack for work the night before, then place your alarm at the other side of the room so you have to get out of bed to turn it off!’

How do I get those abs?
You’ll need to make friends with weights: ‘It's all about weight and resistance training for me.’ Michelle’s lucky not to have to blast the cardio in order to shift weight, so she focuses on toning muscle instead. Cue dancer-like arms, washboard stomach and lean back – all of which make her slim figure look strong. ‘Resistance training is key to creating muscle tone, and the more muscle you have, the more fat your body will burn while you rest, so it pays to incorporate weight training into your routine whether you’re looking to slim down or tone up,’ advises Foster. ‘I wouldn’t be surprised if Michelle chooses compound movements – where more than one joint and muscle group is working at once – to upgrade her results. Think deep squats, bicycle crunches and dumbbell lunges, choosing either a high number of reps using a moderate weight or a heavier weight with less reps.’

If there’s one thing you need…
It’s a kettlebell. Michelle reveals she uses them to combine weight training and cardio, if she’s had a few weeks sans gym or been nailing the cocktails on holiday (because, you know, balance) and the skinny jeans are feeling a little tighter than usual. ‘Kettlebells are great for working both strength and cardio because common moves to lift and move them utilise multiple muscle groups which increases your heart rate and triggers cardio burn.’

Keep eating (no jokes)
Michelle often signs up to SoulmateFood delivery service, founded by Christian Coates. ‘She buys into our concept of the grazing principle – five meals a day that all contain a mix of protein and carbohydrate so there’s no sugar spikes or hunger pangs.’ And if you amp up your weights training, you’re likely to find yourself more hungry than usual. ‘Michelle has a slight frame but she has a big appetite and trains hard, so we plan her meals to fuel her workouts; if you work out in the morning, it’s best to make your morning meal and snack high in carbs and calories to refuel, then eat leaner towards the end of the day.’

Treats are never off the table (praise the Lord)
No-one likes that person who screws their face up at the menu when you’re out for a burger… including Michelle. ‘I can't resist savoury food. I love my carbs!’ She follows the 80/20 rule, eating nutrition-packed, balanced meals most of the time, but throwing the rules out of the window every now and again – and it’s that mindset that Coates credits with keeping Michelle so lean. ‘It’s crucial not to see treats as rewards, otherwise you’re giving them too much power and you’ll reach for one every time you do a good session at the gym, which can end up hampering your results. Instead, if you’re craving something – Michelle’s hubby Mark once revealed she’d brought a Magnum ice cream to bed! – have it, enjoy it, and then draw a line under it.

So what’s she cooking?
Coates’ recipe book Fitness Gourmet is one of Michelle’s favourites, and offers three options for every recipe – one to follow if you’re dropping pounds, one to maintain, and a third if you’re looking to build muscle – so it’s easy to tweak one or two ingredients to match up with your goals? We might not know what Michelle and Mark are going to eat for dinner tonight, but we’ve got our eye on the steak and salsify chips with chicory slaw.

Beauty And The Beast has always had a special place in our hearts – who didn’t dream of swanning around in Belle’s yellow ballgown, only to fall in love with a handsome beast-turned-Prince? Ever since we first heard that the Disney classic was getting a live-action reboot way back in April 2014, we’ve been eagerly devouring any scrap of information we can get about the movie remake. We've also been treated to a look at Belle's first costume (no, not that iconic yellow dress yet), with Disney releasing this sketch of Emma Watson's blue dress. Thoughts?

Beauty And The Beast 2017: New Pictures Are In!

How to Make Your Life Look Amazing On Instagram When You've Got No Cash

@erica_davies

Words by Hannah Rochell

It’s January. It’s dark, you have no money, and you might not have had a drink since New Year’s Eve. The struggle is real. So how, HOW are you supposed to make your Insta feed look as amazing as those bloggers you follow that have had a brand pay for them to go to Miami? Or the fashion eds that have just been sent a new pair of £300 jeans? It’s easier than you think. Read on...

1. Buy a tiny cactus

@peifen_25

Let’s start with the most obvious thing. If you didn’t know this one already, you’re really starting from scratch (bless). Everyone on Instagram loves tiny cacti. Or succulents. No-one knows why or how this phenomenon has happened, but just check the hashtags for proof (#cactus 4,382,024 posts, #succulent 2,055,709 posts, #succulents 2,492,688 posts. #cacti only has 888,403 posts, but I put that down to people not knowing the plural of the word cactus). They’ll only set you back a couple of quid, and if you head to somewhere like Urban Outfitters, you’ll get it in a trendy copper/concrete pot to boot.

2. Buy a small piece of marble or even better, request a large sample tile for free

@snjezi

Because marble is the new cactus. Use it as a backdrop to shoot a picture of your succulent/manicure/cupcake. Everyone will think you have an entire kitchen worktop made of the stuff.

3. Rearrange some stuff in an uncluttered corner

@sonyaesman

Another important point: people who like Instagram are nosey. They love to see all aspects of your life, so even if you set up your account to document your love of, ooh I don’t know, novelty paperclips, it’s good to throw in the odd shot of where you live. But since most of us don’t live in an enormous immaculately decorated mansion, one of my favourite tricks is to style up a “nook” - a little corner of your house/flat that’s tidy - with a few of your favourite things. A small bookcase with some of your current reads, or perhaps a chair and a few trendy cushions. No-one needs to know that the rest of the room looks like a total shit pit.

4. Invest in some interesting jeans and go on about how amazing they are

@instyleuk

Of course, you don’t need to buy actual Vetements for this to work. Have you seen the pair Next have at the moment?  A dead ringer and only £32. Great for #shoefies

5. Always take your phone to the toilet

@enbrougue

If you’re in the trendy centre of a city, chances are you’ve found plenty of pubs and cafes that have installed Instabait like a snazzy floor, or seriously sexy chairs. In my experience though, particularly once you’re out of town, the best tiles are in the bathroom. There’s also more space and privacy in there to take your #ihavethisthingwithfloors shot without looking like that dick who’s taking a picture of their feet for Instagram. Plus, you don’t want to miss the opportunity of snapping a butler’s sink and a copper tap, now do you?! And remember, there’s no need to order a three course meal to get a decent shot in the toilet. *orders a glass of tap water *

6. Colour coordinate your accessories

@enbrogue

Oldest trick in the book this; just ask the little old lady who lives down the road that always matches her hat to her handbag. I find that colour and print is always a winner; black and white stripy socks with a monochrome animal print bag? Yes please! Shoot from your perspective and you don’t even need to apply make-up or do your hair.

7. Look up

@lianzaz

It doesn’t matter where you live, when you’re out and about there will be something cool to look at, whether that’s two swans making a heart shape with their necks or some unintentionally hilarious graffiti. But you won’t see any of it if you’ve got your head down playing with Snapchat filters.

8. Borrow a friend’s dog or cat

@maryleest

Pets just make everyone’s life seem complete don’t they? A day spent with one, even if it’s not yours, is a day worth sharing on Instagram.

9. Get up early for sunrise/mist/frost

@hi.itsdani

I’m always envious of people who get up early for a jog and catch the best light of the day as well as doing exercise. Of course, you don’t actually have to run anywhere, but if you’re in a park at dawn the implication of fitness is there, and that’s good enough.

10. Plan your content when the light is good

All the professional bloggers say the most important tip they can give you is to shoot in good light. Which can be tricky at this time of year, especially if you leave for work before it gets light and get home when it’s dark. Either shoot at the weekend during daylight hours and store images for the rest of the week, or if you’re into outfit posts, rope in a colleague to do your #ootd pictures for you. (New hashtag idea - #instagramcolleague)

11. Dig out some old content

Failing point 10, find some pictures of a time when you had more money and were in warmer climes. Sunsets, beaches, swimming pools. Post once a week until May.

12. Buy some daffodils

@little_paddlock_cottage

And a vintage jug from a charity shop. This time of year really is a winner. Total cost around £1.50.

13. Become obsessed with something (e.g. a colour)

@erica_davies

Even better, make up a name for it. I went through a stage of obsessing over a pale shade of pink which I christened ‘pickled ginger’. One of my favs on Instagram, @erica_davies, has a houseplant from Aldi called Barry who has become a celebrity in his own right. The best way to avoid looking smug when you’re posting all of this amazingness? Keep your sense of humour intact. No-one likes a proper show-off.
