Is This The Most 2016 Way To Announce You’re In A Relationship?

Just when we didn’t think social media could steal anymore of our lives, Insta-relationship-status-confirmation became a thing. Not just putting up a picture of you and your new plus one, that’s so passe. Now it's all about sharing a pic with something that belongs to the other person, preferably one which they've shown on their feed before.

If you’re just a ‘normal’ person, there’s no reason anyone will notice — though by all means, give it a try — BUT if you’re famous, with a load of eagle-eyed followers, there’ll be a major hype.

The Dog

Liam and Miley, the ultimate are-they-arent-they-are-they-arent-they couple right now, seem to have confirmed things over Instagram — with the help of his dog. He posted one with her, then she did… An engagement, who knows — but something’s offish.

The Thing

It’s not just dogs… After rumours have been swirling about Cara Delevingne and St Vincent splitting, the singer seems to have confirmed they’re still on — if her latest Instagram is anything to go by. With the Dom Perignon, there’s bacon in a box and anyone who knows the super even a bit will know it’s her thing (so much so she has a TATTOO of the pork product). It’s also got her actual arm in, which is arguably more concrete evidence.

The House

Then there’s the classic oops-yes-that’s-their-house shot. Exhibit A – Chelsey Weimar, the 19-year-old Victoria’s Secret model, who was rumoured to be dating Leonardo DiCaprio. As well as a couple of dinner dates, the potential-relationship went public after Chelsey Insta-shared a selfie which was alledgedly in his house.

The Shoes

We always thought they made a very cute couple, so we were psyched to see Brooklyn Beckham and Chloe Moretz Insta-confirming their relationship. Baby Becks posted a picture of his and our cover girl's matchy matchy Vans skate shoes with the caption: 'Matching <3 Missing this one'. Ahhh, young love.

The Zoomed Out

Is it them?! Are they just teasing us?! K-Pez and Orlando are the masters of low-key celebrity relationships right now, so it's totally NOT a shock that this is their first public Instagram together. We'd recognise that mop of dark hair anywhere… 

The Initial Necklace

Everyone's getting in on this act — the internet's wondering if Gigi's 'Z' necklace is proof her and Zayn are still together, and if Drake wearing a H means he and Hailey Baldwin are a thang? We're not loving this cryptic personalised jewellery thang... Too far.
