Sophie Turner serving up some sass at Louis Vuitton
Cut out dresses have been much loved by ITV Be reality stars for sometime now. Thus one of the most seductive styling tricks has long been given a bad rep as something un-classy, not for ‘cool girls’ or more high street than high end, if you will.
However the tides are turning and the party gals’ go-to is making a comeback with the likes of Sophie Turner showing just how cool a cut out can be. The actress attended the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2017 show in an asymmetric mini with not one but three cut out panels- racy! What would Sansa say? With industrial ankle boots and hard accessories the cut out hit cool girl status.
Sophie isn’t the only person cutting in on the action. Street style star Yasmin Sewell teamed hers with a silk robe, for a very reserved approach to ‘reveal and conceal.’ If you aren’t quite ready to slash and dash, left right and centre one can take a note from K-Stew’s stylebook by adding the odd sheer panel.
As a humble human being how do I navigate around the ‘cut out’ I hear you ask? Well luckily for you celebrity stylist, James Yardley, (who knows his way around a missing panel) is on hand with the cut out check list… print it out, take it shopping with you and avoid being called a ‘slag’…
1. ‘Make sure they aren’t too big.’ Sometimes the best things come in small packages… appaz.
2. ‘Never go for a cut out on the hips or the ass.’ Butt cleavage is not a thing.
3. ‘Always for a cut out on the waist- it’s perfect for girls with a waist.' Sophie Turner is clearly an expert.
4. 'Preferably go for a high neck and NEVER with too much cleavage.’ A snazzy side split is always a great addition.
