No plans this week? Here are a few team InStyle's suggestions to get you started...
1. Bowie/Collector
Ahead of the three-part sale encompassing some 400 items from the private art collection of legendary musician David Bowie (due to happen this November), fans of the star can view some of his beloved pieces in a special Sotheby's highlights preview exhibit taking place in the London gallery until August 9th. Don't miss the chance to see some of Bowie's most coveted art works — which includes pieces by Frank Auerbach, Damien Hirst, and Henry Moore — before the collection hits the road. Better still, the preview is absolutely free. Visit Sothebys.com for more information.
2. Widerness Festival
For a festival whose ethos is to help 'correct the balance of the busyness', Wilderness is fast becoming one of THE most exciting and 'break-from-the-getting-s***faced-norm' festivals on the summer calendar. Incorporating everything from music and food, talks, debates and theatre productions, Wilderness' sixth season promises to be just as dreamy as the last. Think lake swimming, long-table banquets and and main-stage set from The Flaming Lips and you'll be on the right track...
Tickets are priced from £177 + booking fee. See Wildernessfestival.com for details.
3. Brighton + Hove Pride Festival
This year, Brighton and Hove will be hosting the UK's largest Pride festival, and we highly recommend you get involved. From the 5th to 7th August, Brighton's Preston Park will be populated by rainbow flags, revellers and a packed main stage, featuring the likes of Sister Sledge, Carly Rae Jepsen, DJ Fresh, Fleur East, and Alesha Dixon. Food, fun, and lots of glitter. Honestly, what's not to love? Oh, and FYI - Ruby Rose is DJing exclusively at the Shooshh Official Pride Girls Closing Party. Get your information at Brighton-pride.org
4. Merchant Square
From this Friday, London's Merchant Square in Paddington will play host to live screenings of the Rio 2016 Olympics - a perfect place to lounge and catch up on the events. Deckchairs, cocktails and the gymnastics final, all out in the open air? It's not the magic of London 2012, but it comes pretty close.
5. The Girls by Emma Cline
If (like us) you're slightly obsessed with the strangeness of late '60s California, then Emma Cline's bestselling novel The Girls is the summer read for you. Encapsulating the all the violence and hypnotic beauty of a dying 'flower power' counter-culture, Emma Cline's gorgeous novel is both stunning and shocking. We dare you not to devour in one sitting.
6. Suicide Squad
Finally, THE movie of the summer opens in UK theatres this Friday, and we don't know about you, but doesn't it feel like Suicide Squad has been on it's way for like, ever? Starring Jared Leto, Will Smith, Cara Delevingne and lady-of-the-moment Margot Robbie as (your new Halloween inspo) Harley Quinn, Suicide Squad is the flick we've all been bloody well waiting for!
7. Rio Boteco
Celebrate the Rio 2016 Olympic Games with a special pop-up serving the very best in Brazilian gastronomy, right in the heart of London Fields. For a limited time only, Rio Boteco will be offering foodies the opportunity to try authentic Brazilian cuisine (including delicacies such as coconut fish stew and traditional chicken dumplings) in Hackney's newest collaborative space The Institute Of Light. Check out Rioboteco.co.uk for menues and more info.
