Hands up who wants justice for Barb
While it hasn't yet been confirmed that Netflix show Stranger Things will get a second season, series creators have fuelled the series 2 rumour mill by addressing the issue that has plagued Stranger Things fans since the show's last episode...
'We’ll make sure there’s some justice for Barb,' Matt Duffer revealed during an interview with IGN. 'People get very frustrated, understandably, that the town doesn’t seem to be really dealing with Barb. That stuff is all happening. We’re just not spending any screen time on it.'
So, does this mean some screen time will be spent on it? Does this mean Stranger Things season 2 might just happen? Matt Duffer doesn't confirm either way, but has admitted that 'it’s not a second season as much as a sequel...' And this may finally mean some much-wanted justice for Barb.

Now, in case we've geeked out completely and you haven't the foggiest what we're talking about *spoiler alert* one key character dies rather gruesomely during the first season of Stranger Things, and apparently, no one seemed to care. Yep, Barb, bespectacled BFF of Nancy, lover of mom jeans and moon boots, kind of came to a sticky end in the Upside Down with no one really giving a shit, and fans of the Molly Ringwald-esque teen are clamouring on social media for Barb to return - or at least, have her grisly death addressed by the show's creators.
However, as much as the Barb memes/dolls/tributes circulated and fans questioned whether or not she was actually dead (I mean, she did look pretty dead...) Matt Duffer explained that his not dealing with the whole Barb issue wasn't a slight on her character - it was more a matter of time.
'It’s not like her parents are like ‘Oh Barb left. She died!’, he explained. 'Season One actually takes place over the course of six or seven days – it’s a really short period of time. So part of what we want to do with hypothetical season 2 is to explore the repercussions of everything that happened.'
So there you have it folks, a 'hypothetical season 2' could already be in the pipeline. But before you start brushing off those bottle-cap glasses in preparation for Barb's triumphant return, we've got some bad news. Matt Duffer has hinted that our gal may not be returning to the show:
'I can’t see it happening,' came Matt’s response when asked by IGN. 'But Barb will not be forgotten.'
A sad day for Barb fans everywhere...
