How to make the most of your final bank holiday weekend of 2016 - carnival costume optional
Looking to make the most of the last bank holiday of the year? It’s not all about Notting Hill Carnival, you know. Here’s how to celebrate the three-day weekend around the country...
LONDON
Come with ME Ibiza Sessions
Sunday 28th August
So what do you get if you combine some banging Ibiza tunes with a yummy brunch? The recipe for a fantastic bank holiday Sunday, right? From 12 noon until late, ME London’s Radio Rooftop Bar will play host this weekend to the ‘Come with ME Ibiza Sessions’ featuring a live set from one of Ibiza’s top DJs Anna Tur, together with some pretty fabulous cocktail and brunch options — we’re already pre-ordering the ricotta pancakes with banana and honeycomb butter — all served up with a fantastic view of London’s iconic skyline. Doesn’t get much better than being on the White Isle itself…
Hotel Black Cat
Friday 26th August
London Wonderground at the Southbank Centre is one of the places to be over the bank holiday weekend, and we’ll definitely be catching the gorgeous noir cabaret Hotel Black Cat on it’s last night the Paradiso Spiegeltent on Friday 26th. Think decadent grandeur, beautiful ballerinas, acrobats and an evening of opulent madness and you’ll be on the right track. Don’t forget your feathers.
South West Four
Saturday 27th- Sunday 28th August
Returning to south London’s Clapham Common for another year of dance chicanery, festival SW4 is back with probably it’s biggest line-up ever. Featuring a veritable mix tape of artists both young and old, it’ll surely be British dance behemoths Chemical Brothers that’ll be pulling in the biggest (and most bonkers) crowd come Sunday night. Superstar DJs, here we go!
