'That Will Be The End Of The World': What Celebrities REALLY Think About Trump

Back when Donald Trump launched his presidential campaign back in June 2015 (you might have heard of it — ‘Make America Great Again’?), the prospect of it getting anywhere looked pretty unfeasible — the main reasons being he was totally new to politics and he has some pretty controversial views. (Cue a ridiculous amount of Trump memes.)

But, with things (like the Super Tuesday results) looking a little worrying for those opposing #TrumpForPresident, people are speaking up about the Republican candidate.

Here’s what they said…

AGAINST

Chelsea Handler

The comedian and actress made her opinions on Trump pretty clear in two Instagrams... Lol.

This one has the caption: 'Just walking through the streets of Mexico looking for a good tree.#chelseashow #netflix #may11'...

John Legend

The singer doesn't keep his views on the Republican candidate a secret — FAR from it, his whole Twitter feed is full of it. He had the BEST comeback to Trump's son at the weekend, who Tweeted: 'Ha 5 students when asked why they were protesting couldn't even answer. The participation medal/micro aggression generation is pretty sad!'

THEN...

George Clooney

‘He’s just an opportunist […] Now he’s a fascist; a xenophobic fascist,’ the actor said to The Guardian.

‘Let’s put things into perspective. You know, the truth of the matter is, in election season, things go crazy, and the loudest voices are the furthest and most extreme. So you hear a massively stupid idea, like we’re going to ban Muslims from the country. Now, we’re not ever going to do that. It says in the Statue of Liberty, bring us your huddled masses. It’s not what’s going to happen.’

Cher

The singer is using her excellent (mainly cap) Twitter feed to tell her 3 million people + followers about what she things of Trump... (Go Cher!)

Louis CK

‘Please stop it with voting for [Donald] Trump. It was funny for a little while. But the guy is Hitler,’ the comedian wrote in the email.

‘And by that I mean that we are being Germany in the ’30s. Do you think they saw the s–t coming? Hitler was just some hilarious and refreshing dude with a weird comb over who would say anything at all […] He’s an insane bigot. He is dangerous.’

Johnny Depp

In a Funny Or Die video, the actor dressed up as Trump and said: ‘Fuck you’.

J.K. Rowling

In response to Donald Trump’s views on Muslims, the Harry Potter author compared him to the evil character in her books, Tweeting: ‘How horrible. Voldemort was nowhere near as bad.’

Jennifer Lawrence

‘If Donald Trump becomes president, that will be the end of the world,’ the 25-year-old actress told Entertainment Weekly.

‘I genuinely believe that reality television has reached the ultimate place where now even things like this might just be for entertainment […] I was watching him on the campaign trail and one guy said, ‘I love Donald Trump because he’s saying everything I’m thinking and I just can’t say it because of the PC factor.’ And I’m thinking, ‘You are absolutely right. That’s who I want representing my country, somebody politically incorrect. That will just be perfect.’’

Liam Hemsworth

When J-Law said Trump becoming president would be ‘the end of the world’, her  Hunger Games co-star said: ‘I’ll back you up on that’.

Josh Hutcherson

The actor said: ‘It’s a publicity stunt. It can’t be real'.

Chrissy Teigen

‘Donald Trump‘s a f–kin’ idiot, I will say that to everybody,’ she said to paparazzi.

America Ferrera

The actress wrote in the Huffington Post: ‘I heard what you said about the kind of people you think Latino immigrants are — people with problems, who bring drugs, crime and rape to America. While your comments are incredibly ignorant and racist, I don’t want to spend my time chastising you […] Instead, I’m writing to say thank you!

‘You see, what you just did with your straight talk was send more Latino voters to the polls than several registration rallies combined! Thank you for that. Here we are pounding the pavement to get American Latinos to the polls, while your tactic proves most effective. Remarks like yours will serve brilliantly to energize Latino voters and increase turnout on election day against you and any other candidate who runs on a platform of hateful rhetoric.’

Ricky Martin

The singer Tweeted: ‘There’s much hatred and ignorance in your heart @realDonaldTrump.’

FOR

Tom Brady (Gisele’s Husband)

Though Gisele’s husband detracted his support, he said: ‘Donald, he’s a good friend of mine. I’ve known him for a long time. I support all my friends […] I’ve always enjoyed his company. I support all my friends in everything they do. I think it’s pretty remarkable what he’s achieved in his life.'

Kid Rock

‘I’m digging Trump,' the singer told Rolling Stone magazine.

‘My feeling: let the motherf—ing business guy run it like a f—ing business [...] And his campaign has been entertaining as s–t.’

Let's block ads! (Why?)
