Beyoncé sure likes to keep her fans guessing huh?
The Beyhive have been in an absolute frenzy since it was announced that the 34-year-old singer was to debut a 'World Premiere Event' on HBO on the 23rd April, and despite the fact the teaser trailer has been aired (viewed over 2millions times, and counting) no one is any more the wiser. Beyoncé's Lemonade event is shrouded in more mystery than a dark-cloaked mysterious person, and well, we're DYING to know what the Dickens is going on.
Rumours about a new album have been circulating around the hive for yonkers, with fans dreaming about celebrity collabs and leaked tracklists circulating like wildfire on social media. But true to form, Beyoncé is playing the whole thing very, very cool. She’s given only a handful of interviews in the last two years, and aside from launching her athleisure label Ivy Park this month, has been relatively quiet in terms of press.
And it's not like Beyoncé hasn't pulled a stunt like this before. She famously released her last album Beyoncé in 2013 with zero warning (remember the worldwide freak-out), and let’s not forget the controversial Super Bowl performance where she debuted new single Formation without any prior suggestion that she would do so.

So what’s with this Lemonade thing? Well, most people are of the opinion that the premiere will be a feature music video for a forthcoming album track. The teaser certainly suggests that the direction Queen Bey is taking is a whole lot darker than her usual style. There is footage of Bey wielding a baseball bat, flames, True Detective-style spooky cornfields, and Canadian model Winnie Harlow wearing a crown of thorns.
Halo it ain’t. However, we wait with baited breath. If there’s one thing Beyoncé can’t be accused of, it’s being boring.
